Each year the San Diego Center for AIDS Research (SD CFAR) recognizes an outstanding early stage (emerging) investigator based on abstract submissions. In 2021, candidates were selected from abstracts submitted to our Research Day.
The rules:
- An emerging HIV investigator at one of the SD CFAR member institutions must be named as first or senior author.
- Use

- Only one submission per investigator.
- Previous award recipients are not eligible.
- Abstract due date to be determined.
The prize: Bragging rights on your CV and a $200 gift certificate
to the UC San Diego Bookstore!
