Transgender/Nonbinary Community Advisory Board

The Transgender/Nonbinary Community Advisory Board (TCAB) works to provide fair and equal community representation in the scientific efforts, operation, and activities of the San Diego CFAR, particularly for the transgender and nonbinary community. The TCAB works to improve and sustain the health and well-being of the transgender and nonbinary community, both through inclusion in medical research and through conducting community events.

Health Equity Community Advisory Board

This Health Equity Core brings together academic researchers, community-based organizations, the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency, and people affected by and living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA) to address disparities related to HIV care and treatment in the San Diego region. The goals of the SD CFAR Health Equity Core are to increase access to and retention in HIV care for the most vulnerable and under-served populations in our communities within San Diego County, increase research opportunities through collaborative partnerships, and to develop strategies to increase and retain underrepresented populations (e.g., Black/African American, Latino, women) into HIV research studies.

The Health Equity Core Community Advisory Board (CAB) is a body convened to foster collaborations in the community, provide policy and procedural guidance by working with members of underserved populations, and to disseminate multiple services for the community of San Diego.
