Online registration is now open for the 2017 UC San Diego CFAR HIV Research Day! This exciting annual symposium is scheduled on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. This year's presentations will focus on underrepresented populations here and abroad, and the challenges they encounter in HIV prevention, treatment, and care.
We are delighted to announce that our keynote speaker will be Nabila El-Bassel, PhD, who is the Willma and Albert Musher Professor of Social Work at Columbia University, Director of the Global Health Research Center of Central Asia, and Director of the Social Intervention Group (SIG). Dr. El-Bassel has designed and tested a number of multi-level HIV, intervention, and prevention models for women, men, and couples in different settings such drug treatment and harm reduction programs, primary care, and criminal justice settings.
This year's HIV Research Day will be held in the Great Hall of the International House on the UC San Diego campus. We are grateful to the California HIV/AIDS Research Program (HD15-SD-059) and the AIDS Research Institute for financial support that is allowing us to hold this symposium in such a spectacular venue, with an exciting day of presentations, including our outstanding keynote speaker.
