The Translational Virology (TV) Core advances virology research, with a primary focus on HIV, by acquiring, processing, and cryostoring diverse specimens from research study and clinical trial participants. Our Core offers a comprehensive suite of basic and clinical virology assays and analysis tools, essential for clinical, translational, and basic science research, supporting investigators within the UC San Diego community and beyond. We uphold the highest standards of integrity and quality, ensuring rigorous and ethical handling of all specimens and data, reinforcing our commitment to research excellence. The Core is community-oriented and participant-centered, prioritizing the needs and well-being of our local community and clinical trial participants throughout the research process. We provide comprehensive training for all researchers, with a special focus on supporting underrepresented trainees, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment to cultivate the next generation of scientific leaders.
