The San Diego Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) is primarily funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). While the NIH and our members' other grants cover the bulk of our scientific activities, the Center still needs public support to pay for items not covered by Federal funding.
Fundraising for San Diego CFAR is managed by the UC San Diego HIV Institute (formerly the AIDS Research Institute). This umbrella organization unites and supports the many HIV-related clinical and research programs at UC San Diego.
