The SD CFAR is delighted to announce a new initiative: Organized Writing Leagues (OWL). The goal of the OWLs is to provide space, time, community and guidance for writing competitive submissions of all types (meeting abstracts, papers, pilot grants, etc.). They will convene periodically throughout the year and are co-led by the Developmental Core and our current Scientific Working Group (SWG).

About:
The SD CFAR has scheduled an OWL for the California HIV/AIDS Research Program (CHRP) Call for Applications 2021: Basic Biomedical Sciences Discovery Initiative. This funding opportunity will support basic biomedical HIV research that is highly innovative, addresses an important question or barrier, and yields findings that can serve as a basis for compelling studies of larger magnitude or launch new areas of inquiry. There are special considerations for early stage investigators which will be highlighted in this session.
This OWL session is designed to help emerging investigators by providing an overview of the funding opportunity, facilitating collaborations and offering grant assistance.
Drs. Sara Gianella and Laramie Smith will be joined by Dr. Lisa Loeb Stanga, CHRP Program Officer, to facilitate this exciting opportunity!
Be sure to RSVP to ensure we have adequate space.
