Melanie Harris, MPH, originated from the Midwest city of St. Louis and has moved coast to coast, NYC to Seattle, until finally settling down in San Diego. She received her Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from SDSU after obtaining three years of laboratory experience and thriving as a Lab Tech III with the San Diego Blood Bank. She joined the Translational Virology Core in 2011 as our research project manager and is instrumental in ensuring that all laboratory research needs are met. She is commonly seen submitting grants, IRB amendments and in HR discussions with UCSD/VA/VMRF. Outside of work you'll find her relaxing on nice, long distance sailing races.
