International Pilot Grants available

Applications for CFAR International Pilot grants are due by 4:00 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2017

CFAR International Pilot grants help to facilitate and encourage HIV/AIDS research in seven countries. Priority is given to junior investigators in Mexico and Mozambique. Applications are also accepted from investigators in Brazil, India, Kenya, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

International applicants are required to collaborate with at least one faculty member from UC San Diego or our CFAR affiliates (the La Jolla Institute of Allergy and Immunology, the Salk Institute, the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute, The Scripps Research Institute, and the VA San Diego Healthcare System).

Both the international applicant and the CFAR collaborator must be on faculty at their respective institutions at or above the Assistant Professor level or equivalent.

Awards are limited to $40,000 direct costs for one year and require NIH approval.
