The Scientific Working group on HIV prevention promotes research in both the biomedical and behavioral aspects of HIV prevention. Behavioral scientists study training methods and educational approaches to prevent transmission among high-risk groups, such as injection drug users and sex workers. Biomedical researchers seek to understand the genetic and molecular causes for transmission, especially among men who have sex with men (MSM).
All are invited to attend meetings of the Scientific Working Group on HIV prevention. We especially welcome input from junior investigators, postdoctoral researchers, and those who may be new to research in HIV prevention.
