Six Scientific Focus Groups (SFG) have been established within the UC San Diego CFAR to achieve the following objectives:

Identify promising areas of HIV research
Determine local capacity and strengths to perform research in these areas
Promote collaborations and plans to support such research activities
Identify equipment, services, investigators, and opportunities to further our areas of scientific focus
Enhance our ability to adapt to changing scientific needs and priorities
