Visiting Researchers grants

Applications for Visiting Researchers grants are accepted at any time from scientists in seven focus countries who wish to further their knowledge of HIV/AIDS research.

Visiting Researchers grants (formerly called Visiting Scholars grants) provide salary support at varying levels. Preference will be given to applicants based in the International Core's seven target countries: Brazil, India, Kenya, Mexico, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Applications from eligible researchers based in other resource-limited countries will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Please click the links below for information about eligibility, funding, and researchers' responsibilities before and after the funding period. If you are ready to apply now, please download our application form.

Please review the UC San Diego International Center website. The International Center is a valuable resource for information on visiting the United States and specifically on studying or working at UC San Diego. All recipients of Visiting Researchers grants must consult the International Center regarding visas and other travel documents.
