The International Core of the UC San Diego Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) offers two funding opportunities. Click the links below to learn more about each funding opportunity. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Pilot grants are available to international investigators from Brazil, India, Kenya, Mexico, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Applicants must work with a CFAR collaborator, who serves as a mentor and adviser. The maximum amount that can be requested for a Pilot grant is $40,000.
Researchers grants (formerly called Visiting Scholars grants) are available to international investigators based in resource-limited countries, where the per-capita gross domestic product is less than $20,000 per year. Applicants must work with a CFAR member who serves as a mentor throughout the visit.
