Core Services

CFAR Core facilities provide access to equipment and services that are impractical or impossible to maintain in individual laboratories.

The UC San Diego Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) comprises ten service areas or cores. Each core serves a unique purpose within the Center and within the HIV/AIDS research community.

Seven of our cores offer services to HIV/AIDS researchers and other clinicians and scientists at competitive pricing, and some services are offered at no charge:

Flow Cytometry Genomics
Molecular Biology Protein Expression and Proteomics
Translation Virology Clinical Investigation and Biostatistics
Bioinformatics and Information Technologies (BIT)

Two of our cores offer grants:

Developmental International

Finally, our Administrative Core does all the behind-the-scenes work to plan seminars, manage grants, and assist the other Cores.

We invite you to review our core facilities by clicking the links above or at the left. Please contact us if you have any questions.
