When you receive an International Researchers grant from the UC San Diego Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), several people will help you.
The CFAR International Core will determine the best way to pay you. If it is decided that you should be given temporary employment at UC San Diego, the human resources staff in your collaborator's department will contact you. Regardless of the arrangments, we will let you know the plan as soon as possible.
Change in plans?
If you must postpone or cancel your trip, notify your CFAR collaborator and the International Core immediately. In most cases, we can obtain approval for your changes. If any concerns arise, we will let you know.
If you do not complete your visit within the time stated in your application, and if you do not notify us of your change in plans, funds will be withdrawn and used for other Visiting Researchers grants. You will have to submit another application in which you explain why your original visit did not occur.
Only one International Researchers award will be permitted per person.
If funds have been committed for the current fiscal year (June 1–May 31), we will keep your application on file and review it at the earliest opportunity.
